Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast, cut into 2″ chunks
  • 1 tablespoon Kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ground pepper
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 package McCormick Au Jus mix
  • 3 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
  • 1 package McCormick Brown Gravy mix
  • 3 cups water
  • 16 ounces Essenhaus Amish Egg Noodles “narrow”

Instructions

  1. Spray your slow cooker with non-stick spray.
  2. Pour the beef broth into the slow cooker and stir in the Au Jus mix.  Add the chuck roast, Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper.
  3. Turn the slow cooker on.  Cook covered.  (See note #1 regarding cooking time)
  4. Shred the roast using a potato masher (or you can also use 2 forks to pull the meat apart).
  5. Add the water, beef gravy mix and noodles to the slow cooker.  Stir to mix everything together.  Cook 10-12 minutes until the noodles are cooked through.  Stir occasionally while the noodles are cooking to make sure they cook evenly.
  6. Stir one last time and serve.

Notes

  1. Cooking on high will take about 4 hours, on low takes 6-8 hours.  The total cooking time shown above is using the high setting.
